Mission, Vision, and Values
Our Mission
Our mission is to strengthen civic engagement, accountability, and public awareness in Canada by making democracy more accessible, understandable, and responsive to the people it serves.
We do this through clear and inclusive civic education, factual and non-partisan reporting, investigative advocacy, and creative digital media that meets people where they are. By combining research, storytelling, satire, and community-based action, we help Canadians understand how power works, who holds it, and how they can participate meaningfully in shaping their society—without needing to belong to a political party.
Our Vision
We envision a Canada where people are informed, confident, and empowered participants in democratic life—not only during elections, but every day.
In this Canada, individuals understand how democratic institutions function, can easily identify their elected representatives, and are able to critically evaluate political promises against real-world outcomes. Public dialogue is grounded in facts, respectful disagreement, and shared responsibility. Governments are more responsive because citizens are engaged, informed, and unafraid to ask hard questions. Democracy is not something people feel distant from, but something they actively help shape.
Our Values
Non-Partisanship
We are committed to political neutrality. We do not support or oppose any political party, candidate, or ideology. Our work is guided by facts, evidence, and the public interest, ensuring trust, fairness, and credibility across political and ideological lines.
Accountability
Public power carries public responsibility. We believe elected officials and institutions must be transparent, measurable, and answerable to the people they serve. We work to track commitments, examine outcomes, and ask clear, respectful questions in the public interest.
Inclusion
Democracy is strongest when everyone has a voice. We prioritize accessibility and inclusion, with particular attention to communities that have been historically marginalized, excluded, or underrepresented. We seek to create spaces where diverse experiences and perspectives are respected and heard.
Integrity
We are guided by accuracy, ethical storytelling, and fairness. Our work is grounded in verified information, responsible journalism, and thoughtful analysis. We strive to present issues honestly, avoid sensationalism, and correct mistakes transparently when they occur.
Community
Lasting change happens through collective effort. We believe in people helping people—sharing knowledge, supporting one another, and working together to address injustice and strengthen civic life. Community-driven action is central to our approach and impact.
